Adenoid and Tube Surgery

Sweet Becca had surgery to have her adenoids removed and tubes put in again.  The poor baby's ears were super infected and "pussed out" as her doctor described it.  We really weren't sure if she'd even be able to have surgery, but by the grace of God she never ran a fever and so she got to do it.  She was so brave, but it was overwhelming.  She was very excited to wear a gown, hat, and insisted she have princess slippers (which we gladly provided).  She did great waiting, but the longer it went (we had to wait for another child to get tubes in first), the more apprehensive she got.  Finally she just laid there with her eyes closed, then when her doctor came and asked if she wanted to walk with her, she JUMPED up, held her hand, and proudly walked back.  Waking up from anesthesia was REALLY bad, she cried and cried most of the day when she didn't fall asleep and it took several days to bounce back, but she finally did and is doing much better now.  We had so many sweet people praying, bringing dinner, and a number of things and of course Sarah Anne's favorite was having her Bubby here to take care of her.  Bubby also made sure Becca had plenty to eat and ice cream.

Here are our surgery picture:

First we had to give blood...

This was her "cast"

And the prizes!

Sweet girl got ice cream, the girl missed her vein in her arm and then had to do it in her hand.  It was AWFUL, but we survived

Sweet girl had been up since 3, but was ready for surgery!

Saying bye to Bubby

Ready to go!

Playing the iPad

Then coloring

Then just fearful... poor baby

Then the baby slept,

and slept...
and slept!

Woke up for ice cream

Sad ears post surgery

Ears a few days later!!
