Life with the Normans: January 2018

Today our precious baby turned 5!! It's SO hard to believe that 5 years have passed since our sweet Becca was born. I remember being terrified that I was messing Sarah Anne's life up because now she was going to have a sibling, but now not one of us can imagine life without our sweet Becca. She brings imagination, "Rules" for playing, dancing, and so much life into our little family and we would be so lost without her. Sarah Anne and I went into her classroom to celebrate yesterday, which she loved until her class sang to her. She is not too big on being the center of attention, but loved setting up for the "special snack". Since Matt's scheduled for knee surgery tomorrow, we wanted to have a party for Becca, but keep it super simple and easy. We planned a "Princess Tea Party" with just a few of her friends and had it today. For Becca this was a dream come true. She loved every second of decorating (in her own Becca way) and planning lots of activities. Her sweet friends came over and they all were Elsa. It was low key, but once the party started Becca decided she was officially 5!! A positive of Matt's surgery is that Bubby came up to stay with the girls so he was able to celebrate our birthday girl. She picked her favorite El Poblano and was a little mad at me when I told them it was her birthday and they sang to her. But they gave her extra ice cream and it was well worth it. So I tried to make a cake and it crumbled, the girls and I had to run to Kroger and buy one. Added a few princesses and pink candy and we had a great 5 year old cake!
