A Special Weekend

This weekend we were able to honor my precious Mama's faithful service to God as she served at James Island Christian.  Almost 20 years ago, she accepted a job not thinking about what it would mean for her, but instead as a sacrifice (not that the job was a sacrifice) to help ensure Amy and I could go and receive a Christian Education.  At that time, I don't know that she would even have expected to stay there for 20 years, but she never gave up listening to God's calling and as a result she served faithfully until this year when she felt led to follow Him on her next adventure.  The school had a beautiful picnic in her honor and the one message that was evident as each person spoke is that she is such an encouragement to so many and truly faithfully prays, loves and cherishes every person that she comes across.  She often says she might not be equipped to do the job, but God knew exactly the right person for the many different jobs she has done over the last 20 years and as she sought Him every step of the way, she was beyond equipped in every aspect.  So with the picnic, Amy was able to come down and our family was there to celebrate a wonderful weekend in honor of her.  It was very special to be in Charleston one last weekend as the entire family.  Here are our pictures:
This girl would not leave Amy's side.  She wanted to know where she was the second she woke up and why she wasn't with us 24/7!

Love this sweet baby!

This precious lady has been Mama's wonderful friend since before JICS days.  They met when Mark and I were at Stiles Point and have been friends ever since.

The parents and teachers of the school so adore Mama and wanted to bless her in a huge way!

Me and my sweet sister!

These girls love their Amy and were sad she had to leave.
