End of Year Programs

It's hard to believe that the 2017-2018 school year is coming to an end and with it the end of another year of wonderful church activities.  The girls have finished Awana's (we missed this program due to our Great Wolf Lodge trip), GA's, Mission Friends, Grounded (ends tomorrow), and choir (we missed this special program too, but were able to see the girls perform some of their songs during rehearsal).  While it seems like all these things make us busy, and they do at times, they are so critical to our girls and their friendships and knowledge of God they learned from each of these activities is invaluable.  Just Monday night Becca was looking at the Bible and would ask about a story, I would simple say who was in it and she would fill in all the details herself.  Sarah Anne will hear a Scripture being read and already has it memorized from her Awana class which amazes us daily.  So here are the pictures of our end of year activities:

Our sweet baby singing with her precious friends!

Sweet Becca knew every word and sang with a truly joyful noise!

Becca has LOVED every single song and adores her precious teachers.  They took a shy, sweet girl afraid to break out of her shell and loved her and she trusted them to be one of the loudest, proudest singers up there! (M&M's and cupcakes might have been included too)

Our sweet big girl!

She has loved every second of GA's

Sarah Anne's artwork from Grounded

I'm so thankful she has the opportunity to learn more about art and the details and artists.

It's definitely way more than I would ever be able to teach her.

This is one of my favorite pieces of hers!

A Special Weekend

This weekend we were able to honor my precious Mama's faithful service to God as she served at James Island Christian.  Almost 20 years ago, she accepted a job not thinking about what it would mean for her, but instead as a sacrifice (not that the job was a sacrifice) to help ensure Amy and I could go and receive a Christian Education.  At that time, I don't know that she would even have expected to stay there for 20 years, but she never gave up listening to God's calling and as a result she served faithfully until this year when she felt led to follow Him on her next adventure.  The school had a beautiful picnic in her honor and the one message that was evident as each person spoke is that she is such an encouragement to so many and truly faithfully prays, loves and cherishes every person that she comes across.  She often says she might not be equipped to do the job, but God knew exactly the right person for the many different jobs she has done over the last 20 years and as she sought Him every step of the way, she was beyond equipped in every aspect.  So with the picnic, Amy was able to come down and our family was there to celebrate a wonderful weekend in honor of her.  It was very special to be in Charleston one last weekend as the entire family.  Here are our pictures:
This girl would not leave Amy's side.  She wanted to know where she was the second she woke up and why she wasn't with us 24/7!

Love this sweet baby!

This beautiful quilt was made by the sweet kiddos at the school

This precious lady has been Mama's wonderful friend since before JICS days.  They met when Mark and I were at Stiles Point and have been friends ever since.

The parents and teachers of the school so adore Mama and wanted to bless her in a huge way!

Me and my sweet sister!

These girls love their Amy and were sad she had to leave.
