Christmas with Gigi

A few weeks ago, the girls Mama and I got to go and visit one of my most favorite people in the world.  We headed to Beaufort to visit Nana and had the best time.  She is so much fun and I love spending time talking with her, playing games, and just hanging out.  The girls absolutely adore her and love their Gigi.  We also go to visit with Aunt Theresa and Aunt Betty at Duke's BBQ, but I forgot to take a picture.  So here are our pictures from our trip!

Cultural Weekend

This weekend we originally planned to go to the Carolina game, but it rained and rained and rained, so we quickly switched gears and headed for a more cultural weekend.  We went to the Nutcracker Ballet Saturday and Sunday we went to The Best Christmas Pageant Ever done by our church's choir.  It was so amazing and I loved watching the girls take it all in.  Sarah Anne wanted to know if they were ever going to speak in the Ballet and didn't love that no one spoke, Becca was completely enthralled in the dances and loved every second.  Then we went to dinner which everyone enjoyed. We came home and watched the end of the Georgia/Alabama which was more up Sarah Anne's alley and she cheered Bama onto victory for her sweet Grandaddy.  She called him at half time and at the end of the game.  I love that they have such a special relationship and that she was so excited to be with him even if they couldn't be together.  The next night we went to church and the girls LOVED the play.  Sarah Anne had been reading the book for Grounded and it was amazing for her to put it all together.  The music was absolutely amazing and the performers were wonderful!  At the end, they had everyone sing Christmas carols which was breathtaking.  Becca has been practicing "Hark the Herald, Angels Sing" and when they started singing it she sang with ALL her might.  It was so special to have both girls there singing and praising God with us.  Well, we didn't take a ton of pictures, but here are a few of our fun weekend!

Ready for the play

A Special Blog and Trip

After Thanksgiving, the girls and I were able to go with Mama and Daddy on a very special trip to visit a very special lady.  My girls are very blessed with their Grandparents, but God has also blessed them to have amazing relationships with their great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and great-aunts.  We were able to visit Aunt Betty and had the most wonderful time there.  The girls loved riding their bikes, learned new games, danced, visited beautiful monuments (which led to lots of discussions about those who have sacrificed so much to our country), visited new cities, and overall made lots of memories with Aunt Betty.  It was an amazing trip and my girls absolutely love their Aunt Betty and love that she is their Gigi's precious sister.

The Scrabble game got really serious with perhaps some cheating!

We also got to stop and eat lunch with Uncle Paul.

The pictures aren't clear, but it was still so fun!

Becca LOVED their beds at Aunt Betty's.

Before the game started

The Memorials were amazing, it was so humbling to see all those who have sacrificed for the rights and privileges our country has.

Taco Night!

This was my favorite, sometimes I would walk into a room and the girls were just sitting chatting with Aunt Betty.

A cute diner in Swansboro.  An Elvis cutout was in the bathroom and would talk to you.  Becca sent everyone into the bathroom because she loved it!

Sending silly pictures to her Daddy

This little city was beautiful!
