Sarah Anne the Mama

So I know I posted pictures from Monday of Sarah Anne taking care of her babies, but she took it to a whole new level last night.  She had to change her babies "poopy diapers".  Like the big girl that she is, she let us know that she would need wipes and diapers and then proceeded to change their diapers.  Her faces were PRICELESS as she made had looks of disgust at the "dirty" diapers.  Anyway, here is our sweet girl...

Everyone lined up (notice the 3 diapers ready to go)

Gently lifting the baby to wipe...

Then running to throw the wipe away!!

Don't worry you can change babies upside down!!

YUCK!!

Upside down babies are ok too!!  Its good for the blood to rush to their heads!!

Look at my clean baby!!

This one had her diaper under her clothes.

Time for #3

Then she put the babies to bed!!

Rainy and Sick Day

Sarah Anne seems to have hand, foot, and mouth disease which has not been fun!!  She has been fever free for over 24 hours now and really seems to be feeling better!!  Minus the fact that we were up at 5am today the day hasn't been too bad.  It was good for us to take it easy and stay inside, due to the rain.  This morning she got her baby dolls out and spent all morning taking care of them.  She has such a precious and sweet spirit and wanted to make sure those babies were well taken care of!!  So here is my sweet girl and her babies!!

The big girl thought that she could sit in the baby seat!!

Then she put the baby in...

Look I'm feeding my baby!!

Then it was time to go night-night.

Kisses for them!!

Rubbing their "backs"

Rocking the baby.

Going night night with baby!!  (The other one got kicked to the curb)

The baby needed a burp!

Look at the rain.

Skipping to Mommy!

Fixing baby's hair.

Then it was time to put the pacifier in!!

My sweet girl!!

"A Friend Loves at All Times"

My favorite verse has always been Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loves at all times".  It is basic and seems simple, but recently I've realized just how important it is.  Friendship is something that is extremely important to me and God has taught me a lot about friendships.  A verse that seems to be coming up a lot in sermons, Bible Study, Focus on the Family, etc is Matthew 22: 36-39, "'Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?'  Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'"  Friendship is a large part of loving your neighbor as yourself.  I value my friends and have realized and worked through many different types of friendship.  God has shown me that there are friends that are fun to be with and good acquaintances and friends that are always there for me and help me grow in my relationship with Christ.  There are friendships that I have dropped the ball on and friendships that God has shown me are not healthy for me.  God is really growing my definition of what a friend is and how to be a better one.  I have had close friends through the years and although we may not talk or see each other (sometimes years at a time), these friends are one that I love and they hold a special place in my heart. One such friend was my Junior college roommate Brownie.  After probably 3-4 years of not seeing each other, we were able to catch up and it was as if no time had passed at all.  Sarah Anne LOVED meeting Brownie and was very pleased to show her how to play!!  I know I wrote a TON, but I really felt like I should share about the importance of friendship and what God has really taught me.  Here are the pictures of Brownie...

Teach me how to use your phone!!

Oh we can take my picture!!

OUTSIDE NOW!!!

CHEESE!!!

Outside we went to blow bubbles!!

My excellent bubble blower!

Blowing bubbles together!!

Friendships are a wonderful and special thing, the most important thing to remember is that, "A friend loves at all time".

Proverbs 17:6

"Grandchildren are the crown of old men".  I know that the Bible talks about the blessing that grandchildren are to their Grandparents, but they are certainly a blessing to their grandchildren.  We had the opportunity to surprise my Mom this weekend in Charleston with Sarah Anne (despite the fact that it didn't completely work the way we wanted too) and also got to see my grandparents.  I know that I probably blog the same thing every time I see either set of my Grandparents, but I am so truly blessed to know each of them and even more that Sarah Anne knows her "Gigi", "Pops", "Grandma", and "Grandaddy".  And she can tell you about each one of them. Even today on the way home she was talking about how Gigi was at home and wasn't taking a nap.  We didn't get to spend a lot of time with them, but we did enjoy the time that we did spend.  Friday night we got to go to the beach, then Saturday was a lot of running around, then that evening we enjoyed dinner and an evening of playing before we left.  Mimi and Uncle Todd also joined us and we had a blast!!  Oh what a blessing family is and how blessed I am to be a part of such a loving and caring family!!  We certainly aren't perfect and have all kinds of crazy things that happened, but I am thankful for a family that loves each other and is there for each other.
